We took Caitlin and Mark on an epic waterfall adventure session while they were visiting the Big Island. Mark actually grew up in Hawaii on the Big Island; however, he had left to join the military and hadn’t been back in two years. Mark and Caitlin got to surprise Mark’s family when they got to Hawaii. His family was so stoked to be able to see him again. Caitlin was visiting Big Island for the first time, so it was such a blast being able to adventure around with them and show them parts of the Big Island they had never been before.
We met Alissa + Stephen on the ferry ride over to this little island in the Faroe Islands. We were so stoked to be able to capture this adventure session while we were on such incredible islands! Alissa + Stephen told us that they wanted to take a detour before our main hike. They had been told by a local that there was a tunnel that led to a valley of sorts where you could get to an epic viewpoint.
We had so much fun with Mariell + Stian for their engagement session in Norway. We met these two in Bergen and rode with them to the top of the city on Norway’s national holiday, the 17th of May. On the night of their engagement session, they got to leave the kiddos at home and come hang out with us and we wanted to show them an epic time. As an adventure elopement photographer, Ryan and I are literally always scouting for new locations, especially ones in countries like Norway.
We loved our time traveling throughout Iceland! There’s honestly no other place that we’ve visited that has such unique landscapes and drastic beauty that Iceland has! It is totally ideal for an adventure elopement! We were so stoked that we got to capture Bobby + Michelle for this destination elopement during our time in Iceland.
Forest + Liza were such a blast to work with! We met these two in Norway and were so ecstatic to hike to one of our favorite locations in Norway. As an adventure elopement photographer, this was a dream to be able to capture these two in such a stunning location with a fjord right below. Honestly, Norway would such a stunning country for a destination wedding!
We met Alonda and Alan around 3pm to start our adventure session. As an elopement photographer, we’re continuously looking for ways for couples to totally immerse themselves in nature and not have to worry about any other people around. Therefore, with these two, we want on an additional adventure that we hiked to so that not many people would be there. That’s what I love about the Big Island! There are so many unique adventures to go on and find spots away from all of the crowds.
Devin + Austin reached out to us even before they got married. They knew they were going to honeymoon in Hawaii after their wedding, and Devin knew she wanted the memories of their time in Hawaii captured. When Devin talked about what she was envisioning for their session, we all agreed that Pololu Valley would be the perfect location for their adventure session. It would be the perfect mix of valley shots mixed with the forest and ending at the cliffs for sunset.
Kayleigh + Cam dreamt of having their elopement on a black sand beach on the Big Island. These two absolutely love the ocean and can totally see themselves living on the Big Island someday. When they found our photos, they knew we were the ones they wanted to capture their elopement. We were absolutely stoked to capture their ceremony on the Big Island. They envisioned Waipio Valley for their big day, which is one of our favorite black sand beaches on the islands.
From the moment we spoke with Leslie + Jay, we knew the perfect spot for their Kauai elopement would be in Waimea Canyon. Originally from Texas, these two love the outdoors and being outside, especially in the mountains.
Thao + Alex contacted us to capture their engagement session while they were visiting Big Island. Being adventurers themselves, we knew we wanted to take them hiking in the valley. We definitely hiked further than we had ever hiked with a couple and we loved getting to know their story along the way.
Ciara + Mike wanted to elopement in valleys and mountains of Maui for their big day. Ciara + Mike wanted to elope to somewhere so drastically different from where they currently live in Wisconsin. They wanted to feel the warmth again and to start the beginning of their marriage in the land of valleys and mountains in Maui.
Sara and Eric had been planning their Maui vacation for awhile. Sara finally graduated from medical school, and they decided to celebrate with their first trip to Hawaii. When we were speaking with Sara before their Maui trip, she mentioned that she wanted a variety of incredible landscapes during her adventure session. We knew exactly where we wanted to take her and Eric for their anniversary spent on Maui.
Nita + Jordan wanted to capture their anniversary and kick off their big move with a photoshoot at a black sand beach close to where they moved to on the Big Island. Nita + Jordan first visited Big Island a year ago on their honeymoon and totally fell in love with it. They couldn’t resist the pull that Hawaii has on you. They went back home in California and figured out a way to save up to buy property in Puna on the Big Island. A year following their wedding, they did come back, bought property, and have been recently settling into their new lives on the island.
Poonam + Vijay reached out to us about capturing their anniversary photos at a black sand beach in Maui, also known as Waianapanapa State Park. Poonam mentioned how important it was for her and Vijay to finally have amazing photos of them.
