ALLISON + RYAN | BIG ISLAND ADVENTURE WATERFALL SESSION
When Allison inquired with us, she let us know that she wanted to surprise her fiance with an epic adventure session to a waterfall while they were visiting the Big Island. It was going to be Ryan’s 43rd birthday, and she wanted to create an epic adventure experience for him, as well as capture photos of their love as they are getting closer to their own wedding in November.
You see, Allison’s Ryan is an adventure enthusiast. I mean, he owns a fitness center, mountain bikes in Costa Rica, and 100% lives his life to the fullest. Allison wanted to create a Big Island adventure birthday experience that he’d never forget! And that’s exactly what we aimed for when we planned their adventure session.
We met Allison and Ryan for coffee before the photo shoot and loved hearing about their story. Allison grew up in Saskatchewan while Ryan was from British Columbia. They met in the middle and haven’t skipped a beat. They have filled their time with lots of adventures in Canada, around the United States mainland, and also Hawaii. Ryan has visited the Big Island at least five times and it was Allison’s second visit to the Big Island. And guess what?! They’re getting married on Big Island in November! How incredible! We totally bonded over our love of this place, and they were so down to adventure with us! This is where Ryan + I thrive with couples — simply taking in the beauty of this island and having FUN!
We started our adventure in the valley and captured some shots on the way down. We wanted to make sure we had to time to hike to the waterfall, so we made our visit quick to the valley and headed straight to our next adventure. We found a sweet little pool that Allison and Ryan dipped in to capture some super romantic waterfall shots. BC Ryan had a blast adventuring all around the waterfall before we made our way to the cliffs for sunset. We made it out from our hike to the waterfall with the perfect amount of time just for sunset. We admired the cliffs and the moody lighting as we captured the last of the light for our adventure.
We had such a blast adventuring the Big Island with these two and are so stoked for them as they join in union together this November!
