COURT + NATE | WEST SIDE ADVENTURE SESSION
Court + Nate had been planning to do an adventure session with us on the Big Island for months. Court + Nate moved to Hawai’i because Courtney is a traveling nurse. They live on the east side of Big Island and Courtney knew she wanted an adventure session with us on the west side before they left the island. They even got an AirBnb in Kona for the weekend so they would have a couple days to enjoy this side of the island before our adventure session.
About a week before our session, Courtney called us with some unfortunate news. She told us that Nate had hurt his knee after riding on his brother’s motorized skateboard. They found out that he sprained his MCL. We were so bummed for them because we had an ultimate adventure planned. We told Courtney that we totally understood if she wanted to reschedule because of this; however, they were moving off island the following Saturday, and Ryan + I had no other availability during the time they were here.
Ryan + I brainstormed some different ideas for where we could capture some epic scenes and moments for them even if they couldn’t hike a lot because of Nate’s knee. We scouted the west side of the island for a week before deciding on a location. We actually chose a spot that we would totally take someone back for an elopement because we were able to capture so much diversity! Nate + Courtney chatted amongst themselves and agreed that they wanted to continue with the shoot because they had been looking forward to it for months.
We were stoked to show them some of the epic scenery around Kona. We loved how much Court + Nate completely embraced the moments, the place, and the experience even though Nate was hurt. We felt their love so strongly on our session, and honestly, the photos speak for themselves. Check out the rest of our adventure session with them below!
