Adventure Session with Michele + Tom on the Big Island of Hawai'i
When Michele and Tom originally inquired with us, we had planned to do a Golden Hour Session along the Kona coast on Sunday evening. I remember we had two other shoots that same weekend, so we were definitely tired by Sunday. However, we were really excited to meet Michele and Tom.
We had been communicating with Michele via e-mail because where Michele was staying didn’t have much phone service. At about 10am that Sunday morning, we got an email from Michele saying that they just realized that they were about two and half hours from Kona and wouldn’t be able to make it for our evening photoshoot. They asked if they could reschedule for the following weekend when they would be staying closer to Kona. Unfortunately, we were flying to Oahu the next weekend and couldn’t reschedule.Ryan and I sat there for a few minutes contemplating what we should do. We finally decided that we would drive to the other side of the island and photograph them. We really didn’t want to cancel the photoshoot and wanted to make sure Michele + Tom got the photos that they were imagining.
So, Ryan and I packed up our car with snacks, the best road trip CDs, all of our camera equipment and headed out on the open road. Two and half hours later, we met Michele and Tom near the most southern part of the island. While it was windy, the skies were clear and we were just thankful it wasn’t pouring down rain. We took Tom and Michele to some of our favorite spots on that part of the island and capture some of my favorite images so far.
Although it was a long weekend and both of us had to get up early the next morning to work, we were so thankful that we were able to provide Michele and Tom memories of their time spent in Hawaii.
